7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 173 - THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM IS NOT WHERE THE PAIN IS - PART 1

GO BACK

The cause of the problem is not where the pain is

I am professional masseur and physiotherapist. In the beginning of my practice after finishing my education I was working the way I was taught at school but unfortunately my effectiveness in treating various muscular pains within the body was not very good. And sometimes I was actually making the condition of my patients worse then before they came to me. I was being told at school that this is quite often normal reaction of the body - it gets worse before it gets better - but I was not happy about it thus I started to experiment and investigate further on my own the whole subject.

And slowly I started to see and realize that the cause of the pain is not where the pain is. For example I have noticed that some people have pain in the neck caused by the problems with the knee. I know that it doesn't make sense at first because the knee is far away from the neck but the fact was that by treating the knee I was able to reduce greatly or even completely eliminate the pain in the neck within few minutes of treatments. And I could never achieve it with the techniques which I have learned at school ( massaging the neck and back for 30 min ). Furthermore I started to understand why making the treatment directly on the painful spot ( e.g. painful neck ) was causing more pain the next day.
