When we want to change the world should we invest into education of children or adults ?

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

I have heard many time about the point that if we want to change this world we must really educate well our children because they are the future of this world. And so I have heard it so many times that I have taken it for granted and I have not allowed myself to have a closer look at the facts related to this point.

Thus lately I had a chance to talk to a friend of mine who used to be a teacher in a "Waldorf's School". For those who don't know what Waldorf School/Education is, I will give a short explanation.

Waldorf Education was founded in the early 20th century by the world renowned artist, and scientist, Rudolf Steiner. Its principles evolve from an understanding of human development that address the needs of the growing child. Waldorf schools offer a developmentally appropriate, experiential, and academically rigorous approach to education. They integrate the arts in all academic disciplines for children from preschool through twelfth grade to enhance and enrich learning. Waldorf Education aims to inspire life-long learning in all students and to enable them to fully develop their unique capacities.

"Being personally acquainted with a number of Waldorf students, I can say that they come closer to realizing their own potential than practically anyone I know."

~ Joseph Weizenbaum

"Waldorf Education is not a pedagogical system but an art - the art of awakening what is actually there within the human being."

~ Rudolf Steiner

Thus my friend who used to be a teacher in a Waldorf School for few years with great success, gave me a really good insight into this topic. And then she also got me to realise that this thing with focusing on education the children as they are going to be the future in this world is in a something taken for granted too easy.
