This is a big question... why church doesn't do something about the poverty in the world ?
I know that people are praying to god asking him to eliminate the poverty and establish peace in the world but why don't the believers and the priests, cardinals and the pope himself don't do something about it practically ? Instead of building expensive temples and personal houses for the priests ( especially those higher ranked priests ) and buying expensive cars etc. this money could be directed towards doing something practically to eliminate the poverty, starvation etc.
The answer to this question is relatively easy. Just ask yourself the same question and try to answer it. And this way you will know why the priests are not doing it either. They are the same as you are. This is a simple proof that they are not more special than you. They are having the same ego problems and they are as greedy as most of the people. And maybe they say that they would like to eliminate the poverty and starvation but they don't want to put their money or effort into it. They just prefer that god magically does something about it and in the meantime they try to make their life as comfortable as possible - and that includes living in luxuries and enjoy the sex life ( not all but many ) although it is officially prohibited.
Another reason why Church is not doing as much as they could about the poverty is that the priest ( just like you and many people ) have accepted the belief that they are miserable and powerless and thus they can do nothing about it. So you see again... they are the same as you are.
And that's why many suffer from poverty in this world although there is enough wealth to change.
