7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 1585 - ABOUT TRUSTING OTHER PEOPLE - PART 1

GO BACK

About trusting other people

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

One of my friends has recently moved to a new apartment and he needed to connect the internet. But because he did not speak well the local language so I decided to help him. Apart from this I have a lot of experience with the telecommunication companies and so I knew how to speak with them.

He has already tried to talk with one of the companies and thought that he has found a good offer. But if he did it then he would overpay it. Anyway I made couple of phone calls to find out what is available on the market and then I advised him with whom he needs to talk with and what he needs to do to get internet at home.

It was supposed to be simple and easy for him to do it ( although he did not speak fluently the language ) but then it appeared that it was not. Apparently the "non-residents" must pay much more money for opening and maintaining the bank account. Thus we looked at the whole situation and I called the telephone company to find out if there are any other possibilities ( e.g. paying with cash at the post office or do the bank transfers ). Unfortunately it was not possible to sign the contract without having a bank account. So I talked with my friend and I came up with a proposal. Thus I suggested that I would sign the contract in my name and he would pay me cash each month.

You'll know... I did not want to do it because then I would be responsible and accountable if there arouse any problems in the future. But again I talked with my friend about it and we decided that we will do it this way.

And in the end I am pleased that I did it because out of this conversation and the whole situation there came couple of interesting realisations.

To be continued
