7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 1101 - EVOLUTION, VIRUSES AND ANTIBIOTICS - PART 2

GO BACK

Evolution, viruses and antibiotics

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

This is the continuation of the previous article:

EVOLUTION, VIRUSES AND ANTIBIOTICS - PART 1

You'll know... we should think that the world some millions of years ago was exactly the same as it is today. Although there was water and there was air, it does not mean that all was exactly the same as it is these days. The animals and plants have changed and evolved and they have adjusted themselves to the new and changing environment. Of course we cannot omit the fact that the environment was also changing as a consequence of evolution of the plants animals.

And here comes also another important point which I would like to mention - the viruses. The viruses which we have today are not the same as few thousands and millions of years ago. And I will use the same example with the time machine. If we could do the time travel and bring somebody from the past to our times this person would be killed quickly by the viruses that we have today. Or maybe it would be the opposite. Maybe the viruses would not be able to survive inside of the body of this person and they would die themselves.

Anyway the point here is that this planet together with its inhabitants evolves and changes. But then it looks like we - human species ( although we think of ourselves as highly evolved beings ) - do not understand this at all. Because look how we approach the point of viruses. When we get sick we take antibiotics. This help us to kill them and we get better but unfortunately the viruses "learn" how to deal with the antibiotics, they evolve and then they become stronger and resistant to this antibiotic.

To be continued
