7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 944 - THROWING RUBBISH FROM THE CAR WINDOW - PART 1

GO BACK

Throwing rubbish from the car window

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

I remember that when I was a kid we were visiting regularly few times a year the rest of our family ( grand parents, uncles etc. ). We used to live in the city and we needed to drive a car for few hours each time. Obviously once you are in the car for long time then you get hungry and you need to eat something. So my mother always prepared us for the trip a tasty sandwich, she got us some fruits and then she also got us some sweets and lollies. There is nothing special about it. It was all just like in the normal family.

But then I remember that once I finished eating my sandwich I was throwing the packaging ( paper wrap ) out of the window on the road. And the same with the lolly wraps. And you know what ? I was doing it and I did not see anything wrong with it. It was all completely normal and acceptable. And we ( my whole family ) have been doing it for many years. But then came a moment when I stopped doing it. I don't remember exactly when it happened but I would say that I was probably 16 - 18 years old.

Now... I was about 20 or 21 years old and I was in the car just with my father. I stopped on the side of the road and we were eating some lunch. After my father finished with his sandwich he threw the plastic and paper packaging out of the window to the forest. I told him straight away that he should not be doing this because this is polluting the environment. As a reply he told me that everybody else is doing the same and it will not make any difference for the environment. And I said that it does not matter that others do it and he should not be doing it. He was looking strange at me and then he said that this is not going to make any change for the environment because we would need to do much more to clean the environment.
