7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 710 - MY TIME IS WORTH MORE THAN TIME SPENT ON RECYCLING - PART 2

GO BACK

My time is worth more than time spent on recycling

I am catching up with posting online my articles. I moved to a new place and I was without fixed internet access for almost a month. I was also very busy with work and that is why I got this big delay with posting online. Though I did not skip a single day with writing my articles.

You know... there is so much rubbish being dumped into the oceans and it kills many animals who are either entrapped by it or digest it and then die or at least get injured. And this is just one example. But one interesting thing is that we don't realise that it is in the end backfiring at us.

How ?

We eat the fish from the ocean and if the fish is sick then we will also get sick. Or if all of the animals from the oceans die then there would be nothing for us to eat.

All of this is obvious and straightforward but yet it looks like we are completely blind and all that we do all is that we are counting and calculating how much money we could make or save when we make decisions about buying versus recycling. It is all egocentric. We take into account only what is best "for me" in that moment and we literally say "fuck off" to the rest. But as I said before it is impossible to say fuck off to the rest because we are all connected and our decisions influence the whole world and whatever we do all and decide will sooner or later come back to us and affect us. If we kill and/or poison all the fish and other animals with the rubbish that we throw into the oceans then we will have not food for us and then we will be fucked. And apart from this all the animals have right to live in clean environment and not suffer because of the laziness and stupidity of humans.

The consequences of dumping the rubbish into the nature are enormous. If we continue doing this like we are doing now than we are heading for disaster in the very near future.

What is the practical solution to it ?

First of all we must realise that every decision that we make affects the whole world. And thus we cannot make the decisions based only on the amount of money that we can make or save in the moment. You know... The cost of cleaning all the rubbish that we dump into the nature and oceans will be far greater than the amount of money that we save in the moment. And how do we calculate the cost of killing so many innocent animals which are being entrapped by the rubbish and/or poisoned by it ? This doesn't have price... does it ?

To be continued...
