7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 593 - RESTLESS SLEEP

GO BACK

Restless sleep

I am catching up with posting online my articles.

I have been in the last couple of years in the process of investigating the sleep and what is the best and the optimal way to rest our body.

Here is a short summary of my discoveries and realisations...

I have managed to reduce my sleeping hours from 8+ to about 6 hours. I have days when I sleep more than 6 hours but the general tendency is around 6. Reducing to 6 hours was not easy process in itself because I was learning through the trial and error process.

Anyway this was success. I sleep less and I have learned that oversleeping actually makes me worse because I feel somehow "numbed in my head" and I had this annoying dry feeling in my eyes. And this has gone now unless I oversleep which happens occasionally.

But the 6 hours mark is not enough because I have indications that actually my body needs around 4 hours of sleep and then having one or two 15 minutes breaks during the day. As I said I have the indication that this is the optimum for my body in regards to sleep and rest but I am struggling a lot with making it happen. Thus I am investigating further this point and checking up on how to make it happen.

And today I had a small realisation in regards to this point. I woke up last night from the unpleasant dream. Somebody was chasing me but I could not run as fast as I wanted. This was happening when I was in the process of waking up and thus I remember it very well. And then I have also noticed that my heart rate is accelerated ( because of the fear of being chased ). This has showed me that during the night my body is not resting as I it should be but instead it is very active and this is most probably the main reason why my sleep is not as restful as it should be. And the same applies to other people who complain about the problem with restless sleep.

And this needs to be somehow corrected and addressed. My idea about it is that I must somehow stop the activity of the mind consciousness system because it is using my body for its own purpose of extracting the energy from my body through the dreams ( eg. The scary dreams etc. ).

Now... I know that I have more dreams towards the end of the night. And thus I think that if I sleep only 4 hours then I will not get into the phase of light sleep with a lot of dreams and then I should be able to feel better and more rested than after 8 or even more hours of sleep.

So... I have to put it in practice. And it is not going easy because I am dealing here with an addiction to oversleep.
