Today I have told my friend about my involvement in the establishment of the Basic Income Grant as a right for every human. He answer to it was that this is waste of time and this is utopia.
So here we have a person who is without a job but still he needs to pay his mortgage and thus he is in a kind of uncertain position in regards to his finances in the future. And for him it would be a great help and relief to have something like guaranteed monthly income in the form of BIG but instead of supporting it, he is saying that this is a utopia and the chapter is closed.
I am not intending to judge my friend but I want indicate that there are too many people in this world who would need something like BIG to help them with their dire straits situation but instead of supporting it they simply see it as a utopia and are not going to do anything to make it happen.
And unfortunately if majority of people will continue with this kind of attitude then indeed the idea of Basic Income Grant will remain as utopia - something that is beautiful and ideal but not possible to achieve.
