7 YRS PROCESS - DAY 213 - PEOPLE WANT TO HAVE HEROS AND NOT WISE MEN - PART 1

GO BACK

People want to have heros and not wise men

These are definitions taken from the dictionary:

A hero is a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal ( e.g. He was a local hero when he saved the drowning child ).

A wise man is having the power of discerning and judging properly as to what is true or right; possessing discernment, judgment, or discretion.

How I see the difference between the hero and the wise man ?

The hero would be somebody who would perform a heroic act and help/save others from extremely difficult or life threatening situation. And I guess you would agree with me if I said that majority of people admires ( and through this also desires to have in society ) more a hero rather then a wise man. This statement of mine is based on the observation of people who watch the movies and cry because they are touched "deeply in their hearts" by the hero in the movie. But to understand the difference between the hero and the wise man we must go beyond the emotions here. Thus within this we must look at the point that the hero will only exist if there is a situation when he/she must save others from the misery and this will only happen if somebody creates the situation of misery or somebody accepts the position of being a victim.

And within this it is obvious that here we have a construct of polarity: the hero and the victim.
